What is Holistic Massage?
Holistic means 'whole' (it has Greek
roots for those interested in the Etymology!). So
this form of massage deals with you as a 'whole'.
Like other therapies, it is not just looking to treat
the symptoms, but to establish the cause, whether
it be internal or external. The aim is to rebalance
the body so it achieves homeostasis or balance. The
training for the therapist is quite extensive, as
it not only covers massage, but also anatomy and
physiology, and investigates general health by allowing
the therapist to look at life style and advise the
client appropriately to make safe informed lifestyle
changes. |

The ITEC Diploma Course
The ITEC Diploma Course offers an accredited
and internationally recognised level 3 qualification
with a thorough
grounding in Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology and extensive practical massage
experience.
This course is also recognised by the QCA (Qualifications Curriculum Authority)
If this is the first ITEC qualification then the Holistic Massage is coupled
with an ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY Diploma (level 3) which runs alongside the Massage
on the Saturday of each
training weekend and the Massage runs on the Sunday.
This only needs to be studied
once, so if
additional courses are to be undertaken then the Anatomy & Physiology does
not need to be
repeated.
See more details on Anatomy and Physiology Course
page. |
| There is also a business requirement
for ITEC qualifications and this is accounted for in
the Practical days as one whole day of training with
